My final year cheer for April J (Stu-Stu) where I almost successfully set fire to Sandy’s apartment with the sprinklers. NYC trip, SmackinBalls trophy, my wand at rookie party and the poor fate it suffered, ice-skating the oil thigh after my first Nationals. Hey Sandy – did you ever knit the c**’n’b**** “scarves” for our dear friend? I could go on forever here - anything I ever did with the team is a wonderful memory to me :) |

Once you form a bond that close, it does not end at graduation. Chris's favorite memory would be cheering on the Queen's side at the Churchill Bowl in a Laurier Uniform (since he and Andy were kicked out of The Bands for their forward thinking regarding making the team competitive) to get Queen's fans upset, only to pull off their Laurier jerseys to reveal a Queen's Uniform underneath, the Queen's fans roared, they loved it! Then Andy and Chris had to run like hell off the field before the Bands people could catch them! It was hilarious but really got to the heart of what cheerleading is all about getting the fans proud of their school and cheering like crazy!! |
| Known for: |
Being the co-founder of the competitive cheerleading team along with Andy Franklin. Chris started cheering in 1990 with the bands. In 1991 he and Andy were co-captains and made the decision to make the team competitive by getting new uniforms (no more kilts and dangerous kilt pins!!!), securing alumni funding, cutting a deal with the Phys-Ed Center to cheer men's and women's basketball games in exchange for practice space, and entering competitions. He stopped cheering just before Sandy came along. |

Oh my, only Sandy would ask for the impossible! "Davide", the psychedelic pencil that turned into an idol, being of all strengths, and centre for idiocy, does rank up there (seeing as he inspired the theft of a 1970's year book from a lowly staff room on cold, winter night). However, not soon to be forgotten, was National's 1999, "Trace...get on the bus!", UCA camp (Scooby Doo, and a not-in-such-fine-form Kelly in a high school cheerleading uniform), and if I didn't put in my Road Rage "I hate driving in the US...what the heck is a turnpike anyways" experience, someone would.
